 Music

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” (Psalm 100:4)

Music is an integral part of our services. We begin each service with songs of praise to the Lord. Our music director, Kurt Kanhai, along with the band and singers, diligently prepare the music and songs to create an atmosphere of worship. We value musical diversity. You will hear a broad spectrum of musical styles and types—choirs, quartets, ensembles, and solos—singing Traditional Gospel, Southern Gospel, and Contemporary Christian Music.

It IS SETTLED

The new album from the First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock (FPCNLR), is a sonically diverse and spiritually rich project that will bring Sunday morning worship directly to your listening device.

The 100 voices of the First Pentecostal Church Mass Choir resplendently bring the 16 tracks to life with vocal harmonies that will please the ear and soothe the soul. Produced by Kurt Kanhai (Darius Paulk), IT IS SETTLED is an album for such a time as this, to remind listeners of the overall provenance of God – regardless of trial or test.

The lead single “THIS PLACE” was written by Laura Nesterenko and co-written by Ryan Johns and Kurt Kanhai. The song came to life during a worship service one night and has been making its way around the globe. “This Place” has over 100,000 streams worldwide. The lush ballad that reminds listeners that a “miracle can happen in this place” was also recorded in Spanish, and both versions are available on the album. “This Place,” along with the blues-infused, rollicking “GARMENT OF PRAISE,” are now available everywhere digital music is sold.

The rousing title track offers another album standout and is a definite staple that choirs will sing throughout the generations, while the foot-tapping “CELEBRATION MEDLEY” pays masterful tribute to songs of old that are beloved reminders of such Pentecostal patriarchs as GT Haywood and Bishop AO Holmes.

IT IS SETTLED was recorded to commemorate the 70th Arkansas International Camp meeting that FPCNLR hosts every year. In 1946, Bishop AO Holmes and family moved to North Little Rock to assume the pastorate of First Pentecostal Church.
